Welcome
Gail DeCecco
Personal Integrity. Professional Competence.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio website. My goal is to share with you a bit about my experiences, competencies, and passion for the power of education. Before I entered the field of education, I worked in human services for over 15 years. During that time, I supported youth and adults with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities across many settings, including group homes, hospitals, and day programs. For several years, my husband and I were foster parents for youth with disabilities. All of these experiences were satisfying in themselves but also proved to be excellent preparation for my career in education.
I began teaching in 2008. From 2008-2019, I was privileged to serve students, families, and colleagues as a secondary ELA teacher, department leader, instructional coach, and administrator in Providence Schools. From 2019-2023, I have served as an Assistant Principal and Principal at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School in Massachusetts. Working in both urban and rural school districts has broadened my perspective and contributed to my depth and breadth of knowledge and competencies in school leadership, some of which are showcased on the competencies, contributions, and relationships pages. Thank you for your interest.
Sincerely,
Gail
