Competencies
Applied Skills and Knowledge
Communicating
School leaders are responsible for communicating with all stakeholders. Below are some examples of my competencies in this domain.
FALCON NEWS
I published a weekly newsletter to keep families and community members apprised of the happenings at the high school. Additional examples are accessible on the DR website.
MONDAY MEMO
I published a weekly memo to faculty and staff as a way to provide a single document overview of the upcoming week's events as well as a reliable way to share information that might otherwise be communicated through emails.
MIDDLE SCHOOL OUTREACH PRESENTATION
I created and delivered this presentation to 7th and 8th grade students in the fall when 8th graders were weighing their high school options,
Data Analysis
Highly skilled in data analysis and in guiding colleagues, students, families, and community partners to actionable understanding of data.
School Improvement Plans
I have extensive experience in leading schools in using data to create School Improvement Plans. See example.
Literacy Academy: Using Data to Lead School-wide Initiatives
This presentation leads the entire faculty through a close examination of the school's DESE profile, including a close data analysis of MCAS scores. The goal was to build a shared understanding of the opportunities for focusing on literacy across the curriculum.
Professional Development Feedback and Follow-Up
This presentation provides detailed feedback from the Literacy Academy professional development session. The focus is on how teachers from different disciplines interpreted the data and shared their thoughts about the implications for classroom practices.
Testing Coordination and Oversight
RI: PARCC, RICAS, ACCESS, P/SAT, and STAR Coordinator
MA: MCAS, P/SAT, AP, and SSD Coordinator
Below are two of the many newsletters I have created to communicate testing plans to students and families. In-house faculty plans have names prohibiting sharing.
Technology Integration Leadership
Google Suite Adoption and Training
I began the schoolwide initiative at Hope High School to have all faculty become Google Certified Level 1 in the 2017-2018 school year. We utilized the free Google Training Suite and I provided direct support to colleagues. I earned my first certification in 2017.
When I joined the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District, there were some faculty members using GSuite tools, but this was not a priority prior to the pandemic. Nonetheless, I continued my study of Google tools and earned the Certified Teacher Level 2 certification in 2021. This ongoing professional development has allowed me to keep current and support colleagues in their adoption and use of the tools.
Blended Learning
Experience leading school-wide initiatives to integrate technology to support instruction, including partnering with the Highlander Institute. Incorporated the Highlander Partnership into the SIP and assisted colleagues in crafting their Professional Growth Goals to showcase their professional learning.
